I found the broadcast schedule for the game (here) and it doesn't look like it is being broadcast LIVE in Japan. THE HORROR. Looking at net options. It looks like for around $40 you can get an NFL GamePass for the playoffs that includes the conference championships and the Super Bowl. With that all we need is a nice bar with an HDMI-ready TV to open up at 8am for us...

Good spot! Goara does have it live. Your accommodation may have one of those options if you're coming on holiday. The Japanese version of the broadcast is VERY different in my experience... for example the Super Bowl XL (we was robbed) in Japan and there were no commercials and no half-time show. Game's a game though!

Tamashii has cable and opens at 7 AM. I confirmed with their staff they can air the game, and I will be there!

they increased the broadcasting options on that link NFL page... didn't realize it was a work in progress. may need to check it a few times so i can make plans for Seattle vs Denver.

That's what Jay was saying at Tamashii about the Super Bowl. They will be airing that as well and he said he may look into streaming it via internet to get commercials and the half time show. The full experience is better, but as long as I can see the game I'm happy!

Argh... I may be stranded in Hakodate this evening which doesn't bode well for me getting back into Hirafu. Would love to watch the game with some other mossbacks though! Jay is THE MAN everybody around here knows that. Will toss a coin at 3AM and by 4 I'll either be on the way back to Niseko... or not.
