Yesterday at Gyu a group of 3 guys and 3 girls came into the bar. They drank quite a bit, and because it was my birthday, i gave them a little champagne and cookies etc. We always close at 1 but we let them stay a little longer than usual because it seemed like they were having a nice time. When it came time to pay the bill, they all fumbled and then the one guy left said that he just paid me or that i stole the money he had left on the table. The girls quickly helped him out by pretending to look for money on the sofas ... Anyways, they were totally trying to leave without paying their 20,000 yen bill....
The guy then started to act up and finally the one girl shyly gave up and paid to try and avoid a situation.
Then he started to call us all cunts (sorry for the language) and wanted to fight with the staff- threw a couple of punches towards us, even tried to hit me! We all had to forcefully shove him out of the bar.
Anyways, he obviously does this all the time because it looked a little like a rehearsed act... they will probably try it at other restaurants or bars too because they purposely made the Japanese staff confused by yelling at them in english and swearing (I think most establishments would have been a little intimidated).
Just be aware - they said they were here until just after New Years and are staying at J-Sekka.
In 11 years, there has never been a fight at Gyu and its kind of sad to see it happen now... especially at this time of year.
