should you pre pay lift tickets or buy them when you get there - what are the approx number of days the mountain is closed due to wind or bad weather ? are serenity appartments ok and in a good spot ? we are a family of 5

hard to guess lift closure's but 8.30am - 9pm you have plenty of time to be on the mountain. If its closed due to weather in the morning it may open in the arvo fresh tracks all night. Pre paying saves hassle of buying them in the morning thats about all.

Serenity in great spot short uphill walk to lifts, close to restaurants has onsen across the road at Hirafutei hotel 700yen about $10au

There is also a 50 hr ticket which means you don't have to worry about the days closed or days you decided to have off.

You only get charged for the time you clock through the lift entry gates and you can often sell unused hours to guest who have just arrived.
