We have a stack of lost reports- mostly jackets, skis , and electronics- that we would like to go through. If anyone owns a pension, works at a bar, etc. that has any of these in their lost and found or generally unclaimed, please bring to the Safety Centre next to the Seicomart and we will se if we can find the owner. The official process, which I don't really recommend given the number of items and an assumption that your time is valuable, is dropping it off with the police in Kutchan. In a typical lost and found scenario you'll fill out forms at the koban and if the goods are not claimed within a certain number of days you'll be the proud new owner of a bunch of stuff you didn't want. This probably didn't help you, but thought I'd throw it out there. You can always sell it piece by piece on The Kutchannel! Ha
