Sayonara Cafe Kaku

Yup, the man has moved on. Terrible loss for Kutchan IMHO but good move for him, on to a warmer climate with a better economy it seems.

Sprout should be able to fill the coffee void, but what I'll miss most about Kaku is Shukin's free advice, fresh gossip, and lewd jokes.

Say it ain't so...

I'd heard this rumour a while ago and though anecdotal evidence seemed to support it... calls unanswered, the shutter down... I didn't want to believe what appears now to be the case. I think we'll all miss both the man and the restaurant.

Shukin closed the doors on April 10 and sold the interior to a Japanese man who may open a cafe this summer. That's all I've got- I've no idea who the new guy is, or what sort of cafe he plans to run, if he'll be keeping the pizza ovens running, or anything else.
