Role: Black Wood Grill Restaurant Captain / Restaurant Supervisor Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Asst F&B Manager Duty: As the Restaurant Captain, you are responsible for promoting and guaranteeing guest satisfaction. You must also maintain a safe and sanitary work environment and ensure only the highest quality products are being served. You are required to establish rapport with guests in order to build guest loyalty, and should be proactive in gathering constructive feedback with the aim to continually improve restaurant standards. You should foster teamwork and encourage problem solving within the team through proper training and empowerment. Job Description: - Always greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner. - Always thank and give fond farewell to guests conveying anticipation for their next visit. - Assist guests with table reservation and seating - Provide guests with prompt, exceptional service with as little waiting time as possible - Maintain a good knowledge of menu and presentation standards. - Speak with guests and staff using clear and professional language, and answer phone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette. - Maintain a good understanding about the menu, ingredients and methods used, in order to answer any questions regarding the menu and assist with menu selections. - Anticipate and attend to any unexpected guests’ needs promptly and tactfully - Always apply service techniques correctly at all times - Serve food and beverages to guests with enthusiasm and courtesy - Set tables according to type of event and service standards. - Record transaction / orders in Point of Sales systems at the time of order. - Communicate with the kitchen regarding any menu questions, wait time &/or and product availability. - Check in with client regarding any dietary requirements, allergies, needs, and special requests, and communicate clearly and carefully to the kitchen. - Perform periodic checks with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverages. - Remain attentive to guests even while they are dining - Clear, collect and return food and beverage items to proper area when guests are finished with their respective courses. - Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc. throughout the shift. - Review order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for order requirements accordingly. - Present accurate final bill to guest and process payment. - Perform shift closing on the Point of sales terminal and tally cash and credit card settlements. - Ensure that the restaurant is always kept clean and organized, both at the front as well as the back of house areas. - Ensure that hotel brand standards and SOP's are consistently implemented. - Work closely with staff and manager to ensure that the restaurant achieves its full potential and exceeds expectations. - Complete daily responsibilities that are set for each individual shift. - Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. - Conduct monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies. - Take an active role in coaching and developing junior staff. - Any other duties related to food and beverage service assigned by the manager. Remuneration: - 300,000 JPY per month.
