Chef/Kitchen Staff Wanted – The Legend Niseko (KUTCHAN)

CHEF / KITCHEN STAFF WANTED – WINTER SEASON IN NISEKO The Legend Niseko is looking for someone to join our small team for the 2026/27 winter season in Kutchan, Hokkaido. December 1st – March 31st ¥1,500 per hour 5 shifts per week Staff accommodation available Shared staff car for skiing, shopping & personal use Subsidised ski pass Additional morning shifts available ABOUT THE JOB We're primarily looking for an experienced chef/cook who is confident running a small kitchen independently. Our food is British pub/gastro pub style – fish & chips, roasts, pub classics and rotating specials. Experience working in a UK-style gastro pub is strongly preferred. There will be times when you'll be responsible for running the kitchen by yourself while our chef is away catering private dining events, so being organised, dependable and comfortable working independently is really important. You'll also occasionally work behind the bar. Bar experience is preferred but isn't essential – it's a small pub and we're happy to show you the ropes. There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts with our food truck during the season. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 25 years old or over • Previous professional kitchen experience • Experience/confidence running a kitchen independently • UK gastro pub experience strongly preferred • Bar experience helpful but not essential • Reliable, organised and able to work without constant supervision • Flexible and happy to help wherever needed • Friendly, positive attitude – we're a small team, so getting along is important • Working Holiday Visa or another valid right to work in Japan (Japanese national, spouse visa, permanent resident, etc.) TO APPLY Please email your CV and a short cover letter explaining your kitchen experience and current/right-to-work visa status to: thelegendniseko@gmail.com Feel free to share or tag someone who might be a good fit!
