About Us Boot Solutions is a retail ski and snowboard business operating in Niseko, Hokkaido and Hakuba, Nagano with 20 years' experience in the local industry. Our year-round team expands each winter to around 50 seasonal employees, including both Japanese and international staff. The Role We are seeking an organised and proactive HR & Labour Administration Coordinator to support our year-round and seasonal operations, with a primary focus on HR administration, labour compliance, recruitment, onboarding, and seasonal staff coordination. Based in Niseko, this full-time role is a practical, hands-on back-office position supporting both permanent staff and up to 50 winter seasonal employees. Key Responsibilities • Manage HR administration including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, personnel records, and offboarding. • Coordinate seasonal recruitment for up to 50 winter staff, including planning, advertising, screening, interviewing, candidate communication, and visa application support. • Ensure compliance with Japanese labour laws, immigration laws, and government reporting requirements. • Maintain accurate records for working hours, leave, overtime, payroll information, social insurance, and employment insurance. • Coordinate staff housing and transport arrangements. • Support managers with employee relations, workplace issues, scheduling, and HR advice. • Maintain and improve HR systems, policies, onboarding materials, and recruitment processes. • Provide general office administration and accounting support where required. About You • Experience in HR, recruitment, administration, or compliance, preferably in Japan. • Good understanding of Japanese employment practices, labour law, social insurance, and HR administration. • Experience with seasonal, hospitality, retail, tourism, or international workforces. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Professional communicator able to work effectively with both Japanese and international staff. • Able to communicate and prepare documents smoothly in Japanese; JLPT N1-level Japanese is preferred for non-native speakers. • Comfortable with basic written and spoken English communication in an international workplace. Employment Conditions • Employment type: Permanent full-time employment. • Probation period: 3 months. • Working hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm as standard, with flexible working hours available by consultation; 40 hours per week. • Paid leave: 20 days of paid annual leave per year, with employees eligible for 10 days after 6 months of continuous employment. • Social insurance: Full enrolment in applicable Japanese social insurance programs. • Workplace location: Kutchan-cho, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido. • Transfers and remote work: No transfers. The role is primarily office-based in Kutchan-cho, with remote work available for discussion depending on work requirements.
