HTM, the largest management company in Niseko, Hokkaido is looking for an experienced Hospitality professional to join our team and lead our Ki Niseko Front Desk team. Ki Niseko is a 96 room boutique hotel located just meters away from the Grand Hirafu Gondola. Ki Niseko enjoys its position as one of the highest rated accommodation in Niseko. The position is responsible for assisting the Hotel Manager in maximising the operational efficiency of Ki Niseko Operations and to deliver the brand promise to Ki Niseko guests and owners by managing the daily operation of Housekeeping. Start date: Available now. The Role Team Management Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel including guest rooms and public areas. Plan appropriately for each shift by reviewing operating reports (departures, arrivals, room moves, etc). Contribute to and monitor the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures. Deliver training sessions to and ensure the effective operation of the seasonal Housekeeping team. Ensure the safety of staff and guests and the security of guest belongings (handling master keys, security cameras, etc). Conduct team briefings, meetings and on-going regular training sessions for all Housekeeping staff. Ensure all necessary information is transferred from shift to shift. Report all necessary health and safety matters, major guest complaints/issues and significant damage or breakages. Ensure Housekeeping team has the appropriate human resources to deliver on the brand promise and perform its seasonal business operations efficiently and effectively. Develop and implement plans, processes and activities to effectively attract, select and train appropriately skilled employees. Oversee the provision of all necessary resources and tools required for employees to perform their roles. Assist the Hotel Manager to develop appropriate seasonal plans. Assist in the recruitment process of the Housekeeping team, both seasonal and full-time. Operation of Housekeeping Prepare room assignment sheet for housekeepers and room inspectors. Conduct daily housekeeping briefings in the morning. Inspect guest rooms, onsens, and public areas after the housekeepers clean them to ensure cleanliness meets the hotel standards. Coach the housekeepers if the rooms, onsens, public areas etc. are not cleaned to the hotel standards. Report any damage found to the maintenance team. Ensure guest rooms are ready by the guests’ arrival time. Assist in cleaning the guests rooms and public areas if necessary. Ki Niseko Team Support Provide back-up and shift relief by carrying out the full range of tasks assigned to the team. Ensure an effective knowledge of Ki Niseko operations is maintained by reviewing shift logs, transferring all necessary information from shift to shift and attending team briefings, meetings and training sessions. Complete incident reporting on all major issues or occupational health and safety matters and major guest complaints/issues as necessary. Assist with handling other serious Guest complaints not related to housekeeping. Participate in the proper conduct of fire drills. Inventory Responsible for housekeeping inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available on a daily basis. Have a strong relationship with suppliers (linen supply, amenity companies, etc). Knowledge and Skill Requirements Previous management experience in Housekeeping. Physically able to carry heavy items. Prior experience in operational planning and forecasting. Superior problem solving skills. Successful implementation of business processes and service improvements that deliver enhanced services and organisational profitability. Demonstrated ability to lead. Superior relationship management skills to develop new, and maintain existing, owner, supplier and tenant relationships. Ability to negotiate with suppliers. Bilingual English and Japanese spoken (required) and written (desirable). IT system knowledge to generate and read all operating reports to effectively manage the shift. Valid Japanese Driver's license (preferred) or International Driving Permit. Employment Package Details Employment Period: year round Employment Status: 12 months full time contract. There will be the opportunity to change to a permanent contract after 12 months. Annual Salary: from 4.8 to 6 million yen plus lift pass, depending on experience and language abilities.
