Have you always wanted to learn more about the Japanese traditional arts? This is a great opportunity for you to learn how to play the Shakuhachi (Japanese Flute) right here in Niseko. Classes are taught by a repected Shakuhachi teacher from "Seirinsha" and easy to understand english text and english instruction available. Brief introduction to the teacher Mr Seizan Nakajima started to play the Shakuhachi flute in 1968. Has achieved the production of some very creative recitals. Currently Mr Nakajima is involved in the advancing and promotion of Japanese music. His traditional music recitals are well known as not to be missed performances and his skill has gained great acclaim. He also is working on making traditional instruments understandable for children and foreign nationals, these programs have been awarded the status as being significantly important in the promotion of the arts and culture by Sapporo City. Registration Fee (Payment required only once) 3000 yen Membership Fee (Annual payment) 5000 yen Lesson Fee (Monthly payment - 2 lessons) 5000 yen Lesson Details Lessons are held twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday and can be in the afternoon or the evening to suit students requirements. Each lesson is two to three hours in length. Venue Lessons will be held in the "Kyuu Denpun Kojo" at the historic storehouse area near JR Niseko Station. Equipment Neccessary equipment is provided in the interimn. All you need is a interest in learning the Shakuhachi.
